Sylandi Brown is a passionate advocate for rural America who has dedicated her career to strengthening rural communities and communicating the cooperative difference to audiences across the United States and around the world. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Valdosta State University and a Master’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Georgia.
Currently, Sylandi serves as the Manager of Communications and Administration at Middle Georgia EMC, a member-owned rural electric cooperative based in Vienna, Georgia. In this role, she leads communications and public relations initiatives that support the cooperative’s mission of improving the quality of life for the members and communities it serves.
Beyond her work at Middle Georgia EMC, Sylandi serves on the board of the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA), where she chairs the Governance Committee and helps strategically guide board effectiveness, governance practices, and cross-sector member engagement strategies for the national association.
Her commitment to strong governance has been cultivated through years of leadership and service at NCBA, and in previous roles as Chairwoman of the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce and as an elected board member of the Pulaski County Board of Education.
