Session Descriptions

AI In Appraisal Workflows

Wednesday, August 26, 2026

11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This session is designed as a practical, standalone look at how artificial intelligence can support appraisal-related workflows in professionally responsible ways. Built for appraisal professionals and related specialists, it focuses on where AI can assist across the workflow, including research support, information organization, communication, documentation, narrative development, and review support, while reinforcing the continued importance of human judgment, oversight, and professional responsibility. Attendees will also learn a simple way to identify where AI can help in their own role, how to move from a workflow problem to a practical AI-supported solution, and how to think about next-step adoption without getting lost in the noise. The session will also briefly address how this space is evolving toward more agentic tools that can support parts of work more actively over time.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  1. Identify stages within appraisal-related workflows where AI may support research, organization, communication, documentation, narrative development, and review.
  2. Apply basic principles of context-setting, conversational interaction, and guided prompting to improve the usefulness of AI in appraisal-related tasks.
  3. Describe a practical method for identifying workflow problems or goals and using AI to help clarify next steps toward useful solutions.
  4. Recognize the appropriate role of human judgment, professional oversight, and workflow guardrails when incorporating AI into appraisal-related processes.
