The sophistication and complexity of capital markets loans continues to increase. Adding a sponsor to the mix can provide benefits while adding a level of complexity of the transaction. This session will provide a back to the basics review of sponsored credit, highlighting the risks of these loans vs. non-sponsored transactions as well as common transaction structures to mitigate those risks.

Learner Outcomes:

  1. What is sponsored financing and what is the role of private equity (PE) firms in sponsored transactions.
  2. How are the benefits/risks different from non-sponsored lending.
  3. What are common sponsored credit loan structures.
  4. How to evaluate sponsors and manage sponsor risk.
