Biography

Matt Ormiston is a partner at McGinnis Lochridge, LLP, in Austin, Texas. He represents clients in the finance and agriculture industries. While Matt assists a variety of financial institutions and businesses, his practice primarily focuses on representation of lending institutions that are part of the federal Farm Credit System. As part of the Farm Credit System, established by Congress in 1916, many of Matt’s clients provide a reliable source of funding to agricultural and aquatic producers, rural homeowners and certain agriculture-related businesses and cooperatives. In fact, prior to attending law school, Matt was a loan officer for a Farm Credit System association located in Louisiana. He has also worked as internal counsel for the Farm Credit System wholesale funding bank that serves the Texas Farm Credit District. Matt considers it a privilege to be able to assist his Farm Credit System clients, and ensures that his efforts are effective, efficient and contribute to his clients’ overall success, with an emphasis on bringing value to their borrower-stockholders.
