Biography

Scott Reuter is the Chief Appraiser and Single-Family Director of Valuation at Freddie Mac. He is a State Certified-General Appraiser with over 35 years of experience in valuation, appraisal and collateral risk management concerns. Prior to Freddie Mac, he held management positions with Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and GE. He was recognized in 2021 as the CRN (Collateral Risk Network) “Valuation Visionary” and was a recipient of GE’s prestigious “Americas Award” for Outstanding Contribution to the Business. Mr. Reuter holds a B.A. from The Ohio State University and has completed the Executive Leadership program at Cornell University’s Johnson School of Business.

The valuation team at Freddie Mac leads the ongoing development and refinement of property valuation risk management strategies, underwriting products, and establishing and maintaining a credible quality assurance process across multiple lines of business support. Those efforts include interacting with both Sellers/clients and stakeholders across the appraisal industry to reinforce Freddie Mac’s quality standards.

Freddie Mac provides liquidity, stability and affordability to the nation’s residential mortgage markets and supports communities by providing mortgage capital to lenders. Today, Freddie Mac is making home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing.
