Theresa is a passionate and highly motivated audit leader with over 20 years of experience in risk and controls assurance within the financial services sector. With an extensive background in operational and technology controls and risk management, Theresa brings a high level of expertise to process design, control remediation and optimization, and strategic control planning. As CoBank’s Chief Auditor since 2022, Theresa has responsibility for leading CoBank’s Assurance Division in the strategic development and execution of the risk-based integrated audit and credit review plans. She provides independent and objective assurance to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, to executive management, and to CoBank’s regulators. Theresa is responsible for the day-to-day operations of CoBank’s Assurance Group, which is comprised of the Internal Audit and Asset Review Divisions. This includes oversight of staffing, training, planning, and coordination, as well as setting the Assurance function's strategic direction and planning for use of technology and AI. She is responsible for ensuring reviews are carried out in a professional and appropriate manner, and that work performed and reporting meets the expectations of both CoBank’s Audit Committee and the executive management team.
