Ty Koonce was raised in Elkhart, KS, a small town in the very SW corner of the state. His father being the High School and Middle School Ag. teacher, Ty started at a young age helping neighbors on their farm and ranch operations. This gave Ty the unique opportunity to be exposed to all types of production agriculture from irrigated farms, dryland farms, and everything from cow/calf to stocker/feeder operations. Having a broad knowledge of agriculture led to a hometown community bank hiring Ty as an Ag. lender and eventually to him being hired by Capital Farm Credit in the Texas panhandle. After losing his father in 2021, Ty found his calling to be an advocate for normalizing mental health, specifically in Ag. and rural America. Through his non-profit, Under the Hat, and by sharing his story, Ty hopes to bring resources for mental health to rural America.
