#4A-APPRAISAL: Re-Energizing the Future Landscape for Rural Appraisers
Amanda De Jong was named CEO/EVP of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) in September 2025. ASFMRA is the premier association for rural property professionals, advancing the industry through accreditation, education, experience, networking, public policy, and ethics.
De Jong brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across federal government, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Senate, as well as private agribusiness and trade associations.
A strong advocate for the next generation of agricultural professionals, she founded Young Professionals in Agriculture, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting early-career leaders through networking, philanthropy, and lifelong learning, and served as its first board president.
She and her husband own and operate Eden Ridge Farms in Iowa, a diversified cattle, hay, and row crop operation, and co-own Intelligent Ag, an independent crop consulting business.
