Real Estate and Chattel Appraiser, Certified General Appraiser

Farm Credit Services of America

Biography

Jennifer Plate is a real estate appraiser based in southeast Iowa. Her upbringing on a multi-generation angus cattle and row crop operation in west central Illinois instilled a deep appreciation for agriculture, farm families, and the importance of community—principles that continue to guide her both personally and professionally.
After graduation from the University of Illinois, Jennifer married her husband and moved to central Nebraska. She began her career with Farm Credit Services of America in Lincoln, Nebraska, as an appraisal sales specialist where she built a solid foundation in real estate valuation. In 2018, she and her family relocated to southeast Iowa as a real estate and chattel appraiser, where she continues to serve clients with accuracy and integrity. Jennifer transitioned to the consumer appraisal team in 2021 as it was being formed. The team focuses on rural residential acreages and recreational farms across the association. She has served as a peer mentor to a number of teammates prior to having three years of certification. She now serves as a primary supervisor for two teammates. Jennifer and her husband, Logan, have two children, Beckett and Mia, and spend their free time showing sheep across the nation, as well as taking as many opportunities to enjoy the region’s unique natural resources as their schedule permits.
