Biography

Philip McAuley grew up on a small family-owned dairy farm north of Statesville, NC. His younger brother is still operating the dairy which is recognized as a “Century Family Farm” in NC. The farm is small, but the family is large as Philip numbers six out of seven children. Philip graduated from N.C. State University with a B. S. in Agricultural Economics in 1986. After graduation he accepted a job as a loan officer with the former North Central Farm Credit in Lexington, NC, and later moved to the former Piedmont Farm Credit also as a loan officer in Salisbury, NC. In 1990 he was asked to join the staff appraisal team and became a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. In 2021 Philip was promoted to Appraisal Manager for Carolina Farm Credit, and in 2023, with the merger of the two Farm Credit associations he was named Chief Appraiser, and Sr. Vice President for the new AgSouth Farm Credit.

Philip currently lives in Concord, NC with his wife, Lynne who works as a Workmen’s Compensation Adjuster for Selective Insurance Company, and daughter Ana who is a Senior in High School. Their 26-year-old son, Cooper has flown the coop and is engaged to be married to his finance’ Kelsey. Philip's hobbies are following anything regarding N. C. State athletics, and they also have “an overgrown 4-H project sized” club lamb operation with both commercial and pure-bred Dorset sheep.
