Ruth Brantsen is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in management, credit, and enterprise risk framework development. Currently serving as Vice President Enterprise Risk Management at Farm Credit Illinois since April 2022, Ruth has been instrumental in developing a comprehensive ERM framework, fostering a risk-aware culture, and collaborating with all levels of management to integrate risk management practices. Ruth's leadership extends to chairing the Enterprise Risk Management Committee, facilitating quarterly Board Risk Committee meetings, and guiding the VP of Operational Risk.
Prior to this role, Ruth was the Vice President of Risk Management at Farm Credit of New Mexico, where she developed and chaired the Enterprise Risk Committee, established risk mitigation strategies, providing insight and guidance on risk appetite and tolerances, and developed a dashboard to monitor key risks.
Ruth holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a BA in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa. Ruth is also a COSO Enterprise Risk Management Certified professional and has earned the status of ERM Fellow from the University of North Carolina.
