Sarah Sloan Batson leads Maynard Nexsen’s farm credit team. In addition to regulatory advice and counsel, Sarah is a skilled litigator, investigator, and employment attorney who guides institutions through a wide variety of complex disputes and compliance issues. Sarah’s practice focuses on board governance, regulatory compliance, employment law, investigations, executive compensation and performance management, and organizational changes and restructuring. Sarah works to understand her clients’ strategic objectives and to deliver legal advice and strategies suited to help clients achieve their goals and succeed.
Sarah was born in Richmond, Virginia, lived in different places across the Carolinas, and obtained her B.S. in finance and human resource management from the University of South Carolina before obtaining her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She then clerked for Judge Shedd on the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Sarah and her husband Ryan live in Greenville, South Carolina and have two girls (Etta and Josie) and a boy (Archer).
