American Ag Credit
Valerie Scott leads the New Mexico Region, Real Estate Appraisers for American AgCredit. She has been with the Farm Credit System for over 20 years. Prior to American AgCredit she co-lead the entire collateral function at Farm Credit of New Mexico. In addition to her service to the system she was appointed to the Appraisal Qualifications Board in 2022 and was re-appointed as Vice-Chair this year. She holds a Master of Science degree in Agriculture Economics from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Economics/Ag Business from New Mexico State University. Valerie also holds her MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Valerie lives in Capitan, New Mexico (home of Smokey Bear) with her family which consists of her husband, (Christopher) and three sons, Crayton (16), Vicente (11), and Canaan (5). Valerie enjoys horseback riding and skiing. But the majority of her time outside of work she spends watching her sons flourish in their hobbies which include, raising and showing market goats and meat rabbits as well as competing in junior rodeos and playing sports.
