Fifty years ago, FCCS began as a spark—an idea to empower, guide, and elevate organizations across the Farm Credit System and beyond. Over the past five decades, that spark has grown into a steadfast force of leadership, partnership, and innovation, driving milestones that define not only where we’ve been but where we’re going.
As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we honor the journey that brought us here: the leaders who dreamed big, the teams who carried visions forward, and the partnerships that shaped incredible outcomes. Each milestone—every leadership program launched, every strategic service introduced, every team empowered—reflects a commitment to progress, excellence, and growth.
“With a vision of collaboration and cooperation, the Farm Credit System came together in 1988 to establish its own self-insurance company, The Farm Credit Captive Insurance Company. It’s been a model of success for over 35 years, ensuring that the Farm Credit System has the insurance they need to fulfill their mission,” says Brian Clanton, Chief Risk Management Officer and EVP with FCCS. FCCS manages The Captive, delivering financial and operational benefits to the Farm Credit System.
But celebrating the past isn’t just about looking back. For FCCS, the future is just as important—one step forward, one innovation at a time. Through evolving leadership programs, forward-thinking consulting services, and a drive to support clients as they navigate ever-changing challenges, we remain committed to being Future Focused.
“As challenges and change continue to accelerate, the need for capable, conscious leadership has never been greater. Strategic thinking and strong, trusted teams are the foundation of resilient organizations and thriving workplace cultures. For 50 years, FCCS has been dedicated to developing leaders who drive success, and we remain committed to shaping the future of leadership for decades to come,” says Chad Moller, CEO and President, FCCS.
The next 50 years will see new ways to lead, collaborate, and grow.
“Our industry is facing new forces—market shifts, security threats, emerging technologies, and evolving challenges. But with these changes come opportunities to innovate, grow, and lead with renewed purpose. Leadership development has always been at the core of every thriving organization, and as we move into the next 50 years, our focus remains on preparing leaders and teams to navigate complexity, seize opportunities, and drive lasting success,” states Jean Cantey Segal, Chief Learning Officer, FCCS.
Together, we’ve achieved so much. Together, we’ll embrace what’s next. Here’s to celebrating a history of success and taking bold steps into the future—Future. Forward. At FCCS, we are strongly focused on the future. Together with our partners and clients, we are proactively preparing for the opportunities ahead. In 2025, we’re launching innovative programs and solutions—like The Village to empower women leaders, Digital Co:Lab Summit to drive collaborative transformation, Normandy Leadership Experience to ensure your leaders are competent and confident and the Relationship Selling program to build sales skills for the System—each designed to meet the evolving needs of our industry.
“There’s no sitting back and waiting; we are pushing forward with purpose,” says Stephanie Barton, SVP, Marketing and Communications, FCCS.
