Scott Binder Joins FCCS Consulting Network

Former FCCS CEO and Farm Credit executive Scott Binder has joined the FCCS Consulting Network, bringing his unique perspective and diverse experience to support CEOs facing singular challenges or boards examining key issues.

Scott served as FCCS CEO from 2011 through 2019, gaining Farm Credit insight and building relationships with association leaders across the System. He then joined Farm Credit Services of America as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Alliance and Administrative Officer for five years. There, in addition to daily operational and leadership roles, he was tasked with exploring merger and collaboration opportunities, which culminated with AgCountry Farm Credit Services joining the FCSAmerica collaboration that also includes Frontier Farm Credit.

“My dual experiences of leading a service company that supports Farm Credit organizations and helping lead an Association have given me a unique perspective,” says Scott. “Now as a consultant, I’m applying my understanding of Farm Credit and my commitment to its mission to helping CEOs and boards build stronger organizations and a stronger System.”

Scott’s services include executive coaching to help leaders explore opportunities and ideas; leadership mentoring to assist new executives or those working through specific issues; board effectiveness and compensation consulting; and executive team structure consulting. To strengthen his skills in delivering these services, Scott completed the executive coaching program at Brown University.

“Today’s world is more dynamic and changing faster than ever, so leaders and boards need to be nimble while also ensuring they’re considering all their possibilities,” says Scott. “I’ll be working to help Farm Credit leaders think more broadly so they’re better positioned to do more for agriculture and America’s rural communities.”

In addition to providing his services directly, Scott will also be partnering with FCCS governance and leadership coaching consultants for specific engagements in order to deliver even more expertise and diversity of perspectives.

“Scott is joining an experienced team of consultants and further strengthens our ability to address the challenges and opportunities facing Farm Credit,” says Jean Cantey Segal, FCCS Chief Learning Officer.

“Joining the FCCS Consulting Network is a little like coming home, and I’m looking forward to working again with the FCCS team in supporting Farm Credit and its mission,” says Scott.
